I wanted Frau Kratz to hug me like she was my mother. I wanted her to look deeply into my soul and reassure that I could trust her and that everything would be okay. I wanted her, in perfect English to explain to me what she meant about the carpet being replaced…(am I paying for this, or is the Landlord?).
This is what I wanted from her, but instead, she reeled off five minutes of information in quick and clear German, handed me a key, and asked me to sign on the dotted line.
With a racing heart, I moved my pen across the paper, and became a proud owner of my first apartment in Lauf, Germany. It is the perfect place, and I can’t wait to make it a home. I will try to get pictures up as soon as possible, but I’m not sure how long it will be until we can get the internet up and running. So until then, thanks for your prayers and endless support, and I will continue to keep you up to speed with my crazy life in Germany!
With Love,
dk~
